Dreaming of a Better Future
Now imagine that child receiving the opportunity to attend a Mission of Hope school, hearing about God who created them with purpose, learning and growing in knowledge, passing the government exams, and becoming the first in their family to graduate high school. That child has made a massive leap towards achieving the better future they and their families have always dreamed of.
But what's next?
The child-turned-young-adult hones in on a trade that is highly desirable in the job market in Haiti—ranging from Information Technology, Diesel Mechanics, Plumbing, and more. The dream of a better future is brighter and more attainable than ever before.
The Technical School at Mission of Hope opened in 2017, and soon after we hired a Job Placement Officer. This position has been a critical role in connecting graduating students with the right job.
I love what I am doing for my job because it's bringing joy and hope for the young people who need coaching and are looking for a job. The training that we provide for these students equips them with the tools to search for a job, prepare a resume, cover letter, and teaches them how to be successful in an interview. Now more than ever before, the people of Haiti need to be told that there is hope for their future. When you give to Mission of Hope, you support children who are going to school today and will be the future leaders of their country. You support women just like Celita as they serve in their roles and encourage young people to follow Jesus and work hard.
The Titanyen, Haiti campus buzzes with students and young adults who are eager to learn. They can do so because people just like you said, “I believe you can have a better future.”
