Recipe from the Dominican Republic

Morir Soñando is a simple and refreshing drink from the Dominican Republic. Sweet and creamy, the direct translation of morir soñando is “to die dreaming.” It has lots of calcium and vitamin C, and kids love it. Often served as a mid-afternoon refreshment or as a beverage with dinner, it is sure to brighten your day!

Chill all the ingredients before starting. This helps prevent the orange juice from curdling the milk. Make in small batches, and drink immediately.

Ingredients

3 cups unsweetened condensed milk, whole milk, or half and half*

½ cup sugar

2 cups orange juice

*Using a non-dairy milk substitute will change the flavor slightly but is still a yummy choice!

Stir with a spoon to blend, or mix by pouring the ingredients into another glass and then back into the original container a few times to get a nice, frothy texture.

Garnish with an orange slice and straw, if desired, and enjoy!
