Stories of Hope | God’s Perfect Timing

It’s hard to believe we are in the final weeks of 2020. In a year that started so differently than it is ending, we can stand firm in the hope of Jesus Christ and all that He has done for us. We are so thankful for your faithfulness this year and hope these stories encourage you as we reflect on His goodness. 

DOMINICAN REPBULIC:
Pastor Djony, pictured in the white shirt, has been helping Nelson, his wife, and their two grandkids repair their roof since earlier this year. While Nelson and his family waited through a series of delays, Pastor Diony continued to visit them, checking on how they were doing. A few months later, thanks to the generous donations of a church in the U.S., their roof is now finished! God's timing was perfect—the roof was completed just days before a tropical storm came through, so Nelson and his family had a safe place to be protected through the storm. His family has also stayed healthy this year, and they are doing well in their newly finished home.

GUATEMALA:
Last month, Guatemala was hit by two hurricanes—Eta and Iota. Flooding and landslides caused thousands of families to be displaced. Our team has been working closely with restaurants, organizations, and government leaders to deliver hot lunches every day to families living in shelters, both in the city of Puerto Barrios and in rural communities accessible only by boat. There is still lots to be done, but even through tragedy, we are encouraged to see God uniting people as the church steps in to care for those who have lost everything. Please pray that as Guatemala is rebuilt, the hope, love, joy, and peace of Christ would shine brightly this Christmas season.
