Stories of Hope | Impact of Faithful Partnerships

We are excited to share with you the tremendous impact your support and prayers are having in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Please enjoy these stories of impact and praise God with us for the life-changing work that is being done through your partnership.

HAITI
We celebrate the distribution of over 900 gifts to sponsored students during the holiday season, thanks to so many sponsors. Of those gifts, 513 were family food kits, 195 were solar lamps, and the remaining items were toys, jewelry, soccer balls, and more.

One of our church partners, Central Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa, has been sponsoring students through Mission of Hope since 2011. “Our partnership with Mission of Hope has allowed us to be a part of supporting and sponsoring students from Haiti for over 10 years,” said Aaron Lincoln, Missions Team Chairman. “This program has been a personal way to make a direct impact for the Kingdom in the lives of students. Our church members have enjoyed the ability to communicate and support these students, and in some cases, they have been able to meet them face to face on the mission field.”

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Pastor Wendel is committed to serving the people of La Chiba, a small community of roughly 80 families in the Dominican Republic. He has worked in this community for many years. However, last year brought hardship and difficulties unlike any other. Not only did the worldwide pandemic and economic shutdown take a tremendous toll on these families, but Pastor Wendel and his wife nearly lost their one year old son to stomach issues that required an emergency surgery.

Despite the very personal and overwhelming struggle, Pastor Wendel remained committed to serving the people that God has called him to serve. He has distributed Bibles and groceries to nearly every family in this community, investing in them personally and always having time to chat. Many of these casual chats have led to deeper conversations, prayer, and opportunities to share the gospel.

Many in La Chiba were shaken by last year’s instability. God used Mission of Hope, Pastor Wendel, and his local church to help this community discover that Jesus is their “rock, fortress, and deliverer” (Psalm 18:2).

Thank you to all of our sponsors and to all of our donors who are helping to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. Life transformation for every man, woman, and child would not be possible without your support.
