Thank Full Hearts

In October we hosted our third Hope for Her event in Santiago, Dominican Republic with a small but mighty group of women who left the comforts of home and served with full hearts. It was a beautiful and special week, and God did some amazing things in and through the ladies that attended.

Melissa Workman, who has attended every Hope for Her event, shared:

My heart is full and so very thankful for a room full of ladies who stormed the gates of heaven through prayer. There were three different languages being spoken and 50 or so ladies all praying together. It overwhelmed me to realize that the amazing Father that we serve could hear every woman’s heart cry out to Him and to know that He heard and understood every single word, and that He caught every tear that fell as we all prayed together. As we all sang “How Great Thou Art,” which is a hymn that has such a special meaning to my family, I felt as though we were standing (sitting) on holy ground and had just a small glimpse of the glory of Heaven that is to come.

I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
– Psalm 116:1-2
Hailee Meals, who was a first-timer, also shared about Hope for Her:

Hope for Her is an experience I will never forget. I met women from the States, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic that made a lasting impression on me and that I will call friends for life. The event brought unity in ways only God can bring. I am so thankful God brought these women together and also showed me women for whom I can be praying. Being my first trip, I learned so much from the ladies God has put in leadership. These women were able to redefine women’s empowerment for me and my North American mindset. I am excited to bring this mindset back to the States and continue to bring Hope for Her.

During that week we all learned that when you surround yourself with people from different cultures and countries, God changes the posture of your heart. You begin to see needs differently and pray differently.  We definitely barraged heaven on behalf of the island of Hispaniola, and I would venture to say that none of us left Hope for Her the same as when we arrived. Praise God for full hearts!

We’d love to have you be a part of the next Hope for Her event! Mark your calendar for the next Hope for Her, April 22-26.
