MOPs April Update

Written by: Kristen Hunt, Mission of Hope staff

Thank you all for continuing to give and pray for the Medical Outreach Program. More medical, surgical, nutrition, and physical therapy patients are being added each month, and praise God that we have been able to serve them well. God has opened the doors to expand our program to hire a MOPs Registered Nurse to help Gary, our MOPs coordinator, as well as a physical therapist for the Clinic of Hope who can serve our MOPs patients as well. God is doing great things through the Medical Outreach Program! The below story of Dorne is one recent update of a life that has been changed through MOPs.

Dorne Jeenlenor has been a translator for Mission of Hope for 3 ½ years, and a medical translator for 2 ½. In 2013, he noticed his neck was growing larger. He was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism with a goiter, but his goiter/neck mass continued to grow since he could not afford surgery. He was worried about his life and his ability to continue as a translator for years to come.

Because of generous donations like yours and the hospital at Baptist Haiti Mission, he was able to have surgery on January 25th of this year. For that he says, “Hallelujah!” He says that God has been awesome to Him and he felt God even in the room before his surgery.

He knows God has provided for him to have his goiter removed and have energy and strength for each day. He says since the surgery he has felt great and he is grateful to God.

Sometimes in Haiti, things can move slower than expected and it seems like prayers may not be answered. But God is faithful and he answers each one is His own timing, and it is a privilege to see Him work in the lives of patients like Dorne and provide for them through MOPs, giving them hope and life.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:19
