Guatemala COVID-19 Response Update

In Guatemala, Mission of Hope is working hard to provide essential services to the villages surrounding our campus during the pandemic.

The Water Purification and Distribution program continues to distribute water twice a week. We have seen a 35% increase in consumption during the pandemic as people turn to us as a source of purified water.

Grocery Delivery

In response to COVID-19, we launched a grocery delivery program in Punta de Palma and Baltimore, two nearby communities, with a focus on helping single women, widows, and the eldery. We are set to expand this program as funds are raised to buy the necessary groceries.

Education and COVID-19 Awareness

Mission of Hope has been able to help students continue their education by printing take-home packets and through distance education tutoring. Additionally, we have printed our COVID-19 Awareness and Training materials, translated into Spanish, and have distributed them to families in four local communities while also placing them at high-traffic reference points to help communities learn about and prepare for COVID-19.

Everyday at 1:15pm Mountain Daylight Time, the Mission of Hope staff in Guatemala gathers to pray based on the latest COVID-19 news. We would love for you to set an alarm and join us in prayer at that time as well.
