In accordance with the local government mandates, we have safety protocols in place in each country, including increased sanitation and additional social distancing space, when possible.

  • As of January 12, 2021, CDC is requiring all air passengers arriving to the U.S. from a foreign country to get tested for COVID-19 no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to provide proof of the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight. This requirement goes into effect on January 26, 2021.

    - If there are any exemptions for the countries we serve in, we will communicate that to teams.

  • As of February 9, 2021, Haiti will require negative COVID tests from all passengers prior to boarding flights into Haiti. These tests must have been taken no more than 72 hours prior to boarding and may be Antigen or PCR type. Instead of a negative test, passengers who have had COVID previously may present a positive test together with documentation from their attending physician evidencing their recovery.

  • Airports require masks, including for the duration of the flight

  • Masks to be worn in accordance with local mandates

  • Increased sanitization of housing, transportation, and common areas

  • Decreased number of guests per room in the team house, allowing for social distancing

  • Hand sanitizer available at all times, supplied by both the team and MOH

  • Quarantine spaces available if necessary

  • Our insurance policy provides supplemental coverage for all of our trip participants

Your trip coordinator will let you know of any specific country mandates. We know that peace of mind and flexibility are important when it comes to planning for future trips. With that in mind, we are offering:

  • Reservation fee and trip payments made through February 28, 2021 are fully transferable or refundable if Mission of Hope has to postpone your trip due to country mandates or regulations regarding COVID-19.

  • If you make the choice to postpone your trip due to COVID-19, reservation fees and trip payments made to Mission of Hope become fully transferable to a future 2021 or 2022 trip.

The following statements guide our decision on mission trips and are based on guidance from federal, state, and local levels.

  1. Our local staff in each country in which we serve work with local authorities and local medical personnel to determine that there would be no heightened risk for the people in the countries in which we serve.

  1. We will continue to evaluate travel restrictions throughout the U.S.

  1. We will continue to monitor travel restrictions into the countries we are serving in, and ensure there are no bans on large gatherings that would affect our ability to host teams.
