Sustainable local agriculture is an important part of seeing Haiti transformed. Our farm schools and seed loan program, as well as our Farm to Table meal packing program, help farmers improve their livelihoods, provide for their families, and can ultimately play a big role in providing nutritious meals for students in Haiti. They also open up many new opportunities to share the gospel.
We have seen a triple digit increase in yields in villages where we’ve introduced a farm school and seed loan program through the local churches.
Each participating farmer tithes back a portion of his or her first year harvest. We use this locally-grown produce to create delicious and nutritious meals for children in schools through our Farm to Table meal packing program. These initiatives further support Haiti’s farmers and agricultural sustainability.
