Dominican Republic Disaster Response | Flooding & Tropical Storms

dr response

The community of La Puya de Arroyo Hondo, near Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was hit with floods and tropical storms. Having heard of Mission of Hope’s rapid response to a neighboring community that was hit by hurricanes earlier last year, someone contacted Mission of Hope to see if there was any help we could offer. The flooding was intense, and many pastors and leaders requested help for their community.

Our local team in the Dominican Republic jumped into action quickly. Because of the faithful support of donors, we were able to respond immediately by purchasing supplies and getting them into the hands of those who most needed them. A HopeGo team from Watermark Church and our local staff in the Dominican Republic packed 255 hygiene kits, 255 food bags, and 540 cases of water to deliver. Over 1,000 people were impacted by this outreach, and our local staff in the Dominican Republic helped deliver the items and pray with those who received them.

God continues to bring connections and expand the influence to reach every man, woman, and child in the Dominican Republic, even while the ministry in Haiti continues to move forward with our courageous local staff.
