HAITI: A NEW CHURCH PLANT
The relationships that develop between churches from North America who come and serve on a mission trip and the churches they serve in country is one of our favorite parts about HopeGo trips. Ministry continues long after a trip happens. A couple of churches that had regularly served in the village of Bercy in Haiti recently helped meet a need to build up Yves’ church. Yves, a previous Village Champion with Mission of Hope in Bercy, felt called to plant and grow a church in his community. Slowly, brick by brick, he built the church as he could.

Two partner churches in the United States, Life Center in Tacoma, Washington and The Chapel in Buffalo, New York, stepped in to contribute to building the church. In a year of immense challenges for our friends in Haiti, this church has been a place of hope, respite, and encouragement for the community of Bercy.

God is building His church across the world, and He is using it to reach every man, woman, and child.

“...I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18b

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: AGGIES' HOPEGO TRIP
Serving in the Dominican Republic on a mission trip with Mission of Hope is a life-changing experience. In December, a group of 26 collegiate athletes from several sports teams came together on a trip to do house repairs, strategic ministry time in the communities, and to lead a sports camp for local children. After a full week of serving, the athletes gathered together to hear the powerful testimony of one of our Haitian leaders. The coach chaperoning the group knew the work they had accomplished was meaningful, but apart from Christ, it was just work. After listening to that testimony with his group, he knew the Lord wanted him to clearly share the gospel to give the student athletes the opportunity to receive the free gift of salvation. Nine members of the group committed their lives to Christ that night, and six of them were baptized the next day!

Baseball athlete: “Our Mission Trip in the Dominican Republic alongside Mission of Hope really opened up my eyes to a side of the world I’ve never seen. Being able to see life through a new perspective was truly life-changing. The joy of the Lord was present in the people of the DR despite their various situations in life and that had a true impact on me. God worked in me, my fellow Aggies, and the people of the Dominican Republic all week long, and I’m forever grateful for the experiences and relationships that I developed on our trip. Gig’em!”

Cross-Country athlete: “This trip was filled with Christ, changing hearts and lives. If it wasn’t for this trip, I never would have become open enough to let God in, in the way he deserves and build the relationship that I have now with him. This trip changed the trajectory of my life and I’ve never been more on fire for the Lord like I am now!”

Mission of Hope is thankful to partner with local churches, people, schools, and communities to bring life transformation to ALL involved.
