Dominican Republic: Damas Juntas "Women Together"

Last month was the first “Damas Juntas (Women Together)” gathering in the Dominican Republic. Fifty Haitian and Dominican women from all stages of life gathered in the local community center in Villa Agua. They worshiped, prayed, and spent time getting to know each other’s stories. Excitement filled the community center as they spent time learning together. Madame Renee (Pastor Robinson’s wife) and Ruth were the day's leaders and did an excellent job facilitating meaningful discussions with the women. You may
remember Ruth, who lost everything in a house fire, and Women’s Empowerment was able to build a new home for her. After the event, several of the teenage girls stayed to ask questions.

We are pursuing the expansion of Damas Juntas groups and are prayerful for some opportunities near our new campus in Jarabacoa. Community leaders have asked about our Girls Empowerment program and are interested in offering spaces to host their schools' groups.

We are eager and thankful for the ministry opportunities God is opening to allow us to serve more women and girls. Please continue to pray for Women’s Empowerment, and all God is doing through this powerful ministry in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Haiti & Dominican Republic: Medical Care

Medical care continues to be an avenue where we can serve people who need both spiritual and physical healing. In addition to providing 20 children with vital deworming medication this past month, the Clinic of Hope in Haiti helped patients with the following services: general consultation, labs, vision, prosthetics, vaccinations, and the medical outreach program.

Mobile Clinics are going strong in the Dominican Republic, with North American HopeGo teams and mobiles entirely led by our local team. At a recent mobile clinic in Pekin with Pastor Jose, the team saw 296 patients, and six people decided to follow Jesus! One of the most encouraging parts was seeing an increase in the local translators sharing the gospel fully on their own. Three of the salvations came from local leaders sharing their faith. This clinic in Pekin helped prepare, train, and empower our local leaders to do our first nationally-led mobile clinic shortly after—and they did amazing!
