Haiti Mission Trips

Over 11 million people live in Haiti, which is located on the island of Hispaniola alongside the Dominican Republic. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. 59% of the population lives below the poverty line, and 24% fall below the extreme poverty line. (see below for source) Despite these challenges, the hope in Haiti is evident. The joy of the people of Haiti is humbling, and God is moving in incredible ways throughout the country.

Every year, Mission of Hope hosts thousands of Haiti mission trip participants who come to serve. Teams work alongside local Haitian churches in communities where we have established long-term relationships, so your impact lasts long after you return home.

Strategic Village Time (SVT)

Using basic hygiene training as an entry point to visit with different houses in the villages, teams gather important data about the physical and spiritual needs of the people. The data collected will allow us to measure our effectiveness in saturating the villages with the gospel and leverage the information for meeting the needs of the people to bring life transformation. Teams go from house to house training each person in basic hygiene, engaging the residents in normal conversation, assessing the living conditions, collecting important demographic information, sharing the gospel, and obtaining GPS coordinates of the home. SVT allows us to build and maintain meaningful relationships with the Haitian people and equip the local church to meet the needs of their village.

Church Advancement Projects (CA Projects)

Church Advancement projects are specific projects that contribute to the physical needs of the village. These projects represent the highest priorities for meeting the physical needs of a particular village in which you are serving. Furthermore, these projects are part of a larger plan that has been developed in partnership with local church pastors. If you have special skills to contribute or want to participate in a specific way, please let us know.
