INTERNSHIPS

Mission of Hope offers multiple internship opportunities in several countries. Our current internship program consists of three sessions (Spring, Summer, Fall), each lasting 3-4 months. While serving, interns help the operations on the ground run more smoothly, ultimately helping Mission of Hope continue its vision of bringing life transformation to every man, woman, and child. Our main internship types are listed below. Additionally, individuals with specific skillsets outside of these areas are also encouraged to apply. Interns MUST be at least 18 years old.

Business Development
JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Intern will primarily focus on supporting and monitoring key business operations including hope.market, and other business initiatives as determined by their Direct Report.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and report on status of assigned business operations and ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.
  • Manage and track key inventory levels for business operations and ensure enough supply is on hand to meet needs at optimal costs.
  • Assist in sales and financial analysis
  • Document key business processes and recommend and implement process improvement opportunities to optimize operations.
  • Perform any necessary business operations tasks for store and coffee shop as needed including staffing, inventory tracking, movement, and procurement.
  • Effectively communicate to customers how purchases in the market and coffee shop impact life transformation.
  • Create an environment in the coffee shop that fosters intentional conversations and quality relationship building.

The Sponsorship Intern will be responsible for supporting our Sponsorship staff in daily tasks and promoting Sponsorship among team members in any way possible. You are the Cheerleader for all facets Sponsorship!

They will act as a liaison between MOB interns and Village Champions for daily team activities.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be prepared to know daily activities of each team.
  • Communicate clearly with Village Champions and Interns regarding the plans and projects of each team.
  • Monitor Village Champion engagement with teams in the village.
  • Provide constructive feedback on how activities go in the village.
  • Be responsible at meal times to facilitate communication between VCs, MOB Interns and team leaders.
  • Answer any questions regarding Church Advancement Projects.

Church Advancement Interns will work alongside the Mobilization intern coordinator and Church Advancement Coordinator to ensure effective communication and execution of team’s Church Advancement Projects. They will act as a liaison between MOB interns and Village Champions for daily team activities.

Construction
JOB SUMMARY

The Construction Intern will work along side existing US staff, and teams, to provide hands on physical help or to serve as an intermediary between US team members and the construction crew in the countries we serve.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The construction intern will assist our construction teams in the countries we serve and provide help as needed in various situations on projects. No previous construction experience is required but strong preference for those looking to enter the construction field and/or project management. When construction projects or duties are not needed, Intern will work along side others in mobilization as a Hospitality Intern

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interact with various functional leaders, cross-departmentally, to complete specific tasks and checklists to maintain timeline and progress on projects.
  • Responsible to using project management software to report daily and weekly progress and updates on projects.
  • Support the Operations team as needed in areas such as Fleet Management, inventory management, and Facilities Management.

INTERN FUND-RAISING & COMPENSATION
  • A minimum of $750/month must be raised to cover living expenses and must be received by MOH before arrival.
  • A maximum of $2,250/month can be raised so interns can receive compensation. Interns will receive the difference between the amount raised and living expenses ($750/month) when their internship is complete. For example, if an intern raises $2,250/month, then he/she will receive $1,500/month as compensation (less taxes).
  • Interns must provide their own airfare to/from their internship location. This amount can be raised through support or bought on their own with itinerary approval.
