Stories of Hope | August 2022

Since the devastating earthquake in Haiti last August, we’ve had the opportunity to rebuild seven schools in the south of Haiti that were completely destroyed. Our Mission of Hope community generously funded the complete rebuilding of two schools through disaster response donations, and a partnership with World Food Programme opened the doors to rebuild the other five schools.

One of the recently completed schools is in the rural community of Maniche. In coordination with the local leaders, the Ministry of Education, and the entire community, we celebrated God's provision for their new school building that will be a beacon of hope for decades to come. Because of this, over 400 students will have a safe place to go to school.

It’s estimated a total of 2,066+ students will be impacted across the seven schools we are rebuilding. This is life-changing for every single one of those students and their families. They literally saw their schools crumble last year, and many of their hopes and dreams for an education crumbled on that devastating day in August. But hope is not gone. This year they will be starting off school in a safe, new building and will be ready to learn and grow into all God has created them to be.

Thank you to all who generously donated to disaster response and stood beside our friends and neighbors in Haiti. Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti, and that God would continue to bring hope from the devastation.

Pastor Robinson achieved a massive milestone recently in the Dominican Republic when he graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree! Pastor Robinson is one of the many faithful pastors we get to serve alongside, and we're so proud of him. Pastor Diony was there to celebrate Robinson and fellow graduates. Diony is a doctor as well as a pastor—you can read more about Diony in this blog post. What a privilege to serve with people who are using their gifts for God's glory and who love their communities well.
