Stories of Hope | Haiti & The Bahamas

We love to bring you these stories of hope as we reflect on just a few of the many lives impacted because of the generosity of our donors.

Haiti

Families in the Haitian villages of Source Matelas, Minoterie, and Simonette were delighted when Mission of Hope staff arrived with goats to distribute. Goats are a valuable source of milk and meat in Haiti and can also be bred and sold at local markets. Blake from North Carolina had raised more than he needed to fund his mission trip and chose to donate the overage to buy 24 goats. The families were deeply moved by the generosity, and the goats were a tangible reminder that God provides.

The Bahamas

School in Abaco came to a complete halt after Hurricane Dorian hit last September. The buildings were either damaged, or they didn’t have any power. Last month, school reopened in one of our partner churches, New Vision. During a lesson about Noah’s ark, a teacher asked, “How have you seen the Lord’s faithfulness in your life?” A student answered, “He protects us from the storm.” God is using the local churches to help the local schools as the community works to regain a sense of normalcy.
