What is a Meal Packing Event?

A Mission of Hope Meal Packing Event is an opportunity for your community to gather together to pack meals for kids in Haiti.  Mission of Hope currently feeds over 125,000 kids a day through a network of schools and orphanages, but we have over 70,000 more kids on a waiting list.  By packing meals you are helping us take kids off the waiting list and move them from hunger to hope! 

What to Expect?

Volunteers will be divided into groups of 8-12 at tables which function as our packing stations.  Your role could be dumping ingredients into a bag, weighing the bag, sealing the bag, or boxing up the meals for transport to Haiti. You will be asked to wear a hairnet and some roles will wear gloves additionally.  Relax! We’re all wearing them so we all look silly together!  Meal Packing events are high energy events and a ton of fun.  Trust us, you don’t want to miss this. 

Why are you asking for donations for the meal packing event?

The cost of the meals you will be packing for Haiti is .35 per meal.  That covers everything from the bulk food to transportation to the event as well as all the way to Haiti.  There is no cost to attend a meal packing event so your host is asking for donations to be able to cover that .35 a meal cost. The average meal packing event costs between $7,000 - $50,000 depending on the meal pack goal determined by your host.  The more money raised the more kids in Haiti will be able to enjoy a daily meal at school.
