PROSTHETICS LAB
From its inception just after the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti in 2010, the prosthetics lab has been making hundreds of lower limbs for both adults and children using the following process:
- Patients are fitted for prosthetics.
- Prosthesis are molded.
- New prosthesis are fit tested.
- Patients are educated on how to use their new prosthesis.
- Patients return to the lab to have their prosthesis repaired or refitted, especially children as they grow.
- Prosthetics are supplied at little or no cost to the patients.
