SPORTS MINISTRY
Sports provide an incredible opportunity for discipleship and create an environment for children and youth to step away from the daily troubles they face and enjoy sports alongside friends. One of the quickest ways to break down barriers between neighbors is to play a game of soccer and enjoy friendly competition. Mission of Hope Village Champions host games in their villages and use them as avenues to share the gospel with the community.
HAITI SPORTS COMPLEX
The Haiti Sports Complex is a key piece of our Sports Ministry in Haiti. It provides an opportunity to learn teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and leadership skills. It provides a foundation for developing important characteristics that these children will carry with them for the rest of their lives, helping them see how they are part of something much bigger than themselves. Our coaches and staff at the Haiti Sports Complex develop mentorship relationships with these kids, which allows for repeated opportunities to share the gospel.
SPORTS MINISTRY IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Sports in the Dominican Republic serve as a unifying activity, especially between Dominican and Haitian children. There is often racial division between the two cultures, but sports is one of the quickest ways to provide opportunities for children who may not normally interact with one another the ability to do so.
HOPEGO
HopeGo mission trip teams have the opportunity to facilitate Kid’s Clubs and Sports Camps alongside the local pastors in the communities, and it’s often one of the best parts of the week.
NCAA TEAMS
NCAA teams and professional athletes have actively participated with Mission of Hope, serving in both Haiti and the Dominican Republic. They have also facilitated opportunities for their communities to get involved, making a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of men, women, and children.
